Twelve thousand dollars worth of pork was stolen from the back of a semi truck on Wednesday in the 37th Philly cargo theft in 2024.

The theft occurred on Wednesday, April 10th along Charter Road in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

According to 6 ABC, the truck driver was asleep in his cab when he felt the trailer shaking as the thieves stole his cargo of pork. The thieves made off with more than $12,000 worth of pork.

The truck driver says that the thieves got away in a silver Lexus SUV, but police believe that this was likely just one of several vehicles used to move the meat.

Just last month, a load of bourbon and meat were stolen from the same location.

“They [the truckers] are asleep in a lot of cases. The refrigerated trucks make a lot of noise,” said Captain Jack Ryan of the Philadelphia Police Dept.

The pork theft marks the 37th cargo theft in Philadelphia in 2024. No further information has been released.
