A furry co-pilot accidentally set out on a trucking adventure all on his own when the driver forgot to set the parking brake in Kentucky over the weekend.

The incident happened at around 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 21st in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

According to K105 News, a truck driver with Rogers Trucking Company stopped at Subway to grab a bite to eat and left his dog in the car. The driver apparently forgot to set the parking brake, and the truck began rolling away with the dog in the cab as the man went to grab his sandwich.

The truck then rolled out of the parking lot, across four lanes of traffic, onto an on-ramp to the westbound parkway, and then into a grassy median. The truck then bumped into an outcropping of grass and dirt, sending the truck rolling back across the four lanes of traffic and onto a bridge where it bumped into the concrete railing and came to a stop.

Thankfully, a witness quickly jumped into the truck and engaged the brakes, bringing the Blue Heeler dog’s journey to an end. The driver did not realize that the truck had rolled away until a few minutes later, and arrived at the scene at the same time police did.

No injuries were reported, and the dog was reportedly no worse for wear. No further information had been released.
