Cameras capture truck’s sudden plummet off North Carolina bridge

Officials in Craven County, North Carolina, released traffic camera footage of a truck’s crash off of a bridge earlier this month.

 

The incident occurred during the morning rush hour on May 13, 2022, in New Bern, North Carolina.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers said that 46 year old truck driver Harold Neal was driving too fast for the wet conditions and lost control, crashing through a concrete barrier on the U.S. 17 Bypass bridge and falling about 50 feet to the ground below.

 

Neal was hospitalized for injuries sustained in the crash .

Local outlet WITN reported on Friday, May 27, that Neal was ticketed for exceeding safe speed.

Craven County officials provided traffic cam video of the truck’s plunge off the bridge. You can view it below.
