Wyoming ‘Trooper in a Truck’ blitz results in dozens of citations

Troopers with the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) recently took part in a ‘Trooper in a Truck’ traffic enforcement effort.
On June 16, WHP troopers participated in a “high intensity traffic enforcement campaign called Trooper in a Truck,” according to WHP’s Commercial Carrier division.
During the three hour blitz, a trooper riding along in a truck was on the lookout for various violations. When any violations were spotted, the trooper contacted marked patrol units to conduct a traffic stop.
Thirty-six traffic stops were conducted as part of the Trooper in a Truck effort, resulting in the following:
- Speeding Citations — 19
- Insurance/License Violations — 6
- No Seatbelt — 2
- Possession of Controlled Substance — 1
- Warrant for Arrest — 1
- Warnings — 18
- Crash/Assist — 4
- CMV Inspections — 3
- Driver Out of Service — 2
- No CDL — 1
The Trooper in a Truck effort was conducted in partnership with the LCCC CDL Program.
Other states that have participated in “Trooper in a Truck” activities include Indiana, Illinois, and New Hampshire.
