Family-run North Carolina trucking company selected to haul Capitol Christmas Tree

A husband and wife team who work for a North Carolina trucking company have been selected to haul this year’s U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.

 

Hardy Brothers Trucking Company, headquartered in Siloam, North Carolina, was selected to haul the 2022 Capitol Christmas Tree from the National Forests in North Carolina to Washington D.C., with several stops along the way to let community members get a look at the tree. Additionally, Hardy Brothers also will deliver thousands of handmade ornaments made by North Carolinians along with smaller trees for offices in the nation’s capital.  

The tree will be harvested in early November and then transported by Hardy Brothers team drivers Harold “Ed” Kingdon Jr. and Deborah Z. Kingdon, who have been married for 42 years.

 

Hardy Brothers Trucking was founded by Ralph Hardy in 1965 and has grown to a fleet of 55 trucks, employing around 100 dedicated drivers. Ralph Hardy continues to work for the company in the office while his son, Eddie, runs the day-to-day operations as president, and Eddie’s son, Ryan, serves as vice president.
