A truck driver is facing DUI charges after falsely reporting an incident that led to a SWAT response in Arizona over the weekend.

The incident began at 8:51 p.m. on July 10th in Phoenix, Arizona along Interstate 17.

According to 9 News, a truck driver contacted police to report that two men had climbed onto his flatbed trailer and were attempting to damage the load, as well as enter the truck cab while the rig was moving. Police then responded to the scene and the driver came to a stop along I-17 southbound.

When the driver exited the truck, he told police that two men armed with a gun and a knife were inside of his truck, prompting a SWAT team to respond to the apparent high-risk stop. Police say that the truck driver’s story changed several times as authorities conducted a tactical approach of the vehicle.

Authorities soon cleared the vehicle and were unable to find anyone inside. However, troopers were able to find a 10-pack of Asenlix, an amphetamine used as a diet-pill in Mexico, with eight pills missing.

The truck driver, 22-year-old Jorge Yuren Veleta Corrales of Commerce City, Colorado, was then arrested on suspicion of DUI. No further information has been released.
