A woman is facing multiple charges after stealing a semi truck, attempting to run over the owner, and leading police on a chase in North Carolina earlier this week.

The incident happened on Monday, August 29th in Iredell County.

According to Fox 46, the 37-year-old Samantha Ann Kesler broke into a car in an attempt to steal it, then broke into a garage where a set of truck keys was stored. The woman then gained access to the semi truck and attempted to run over the owner when they tried to stop her before driving off.

The owner was able to get out of the way unscathed, but the thief drove away aggressively and was later reported on Jane Sowers Road, and then on Sain Road driving recklessly. Police were able to pull her over without incident.

The semi truck was returned to the owners, and $34,500 worth of additional stolen property was also recovered.

Kesler faces multiple charges including felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony breaking and entering, flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, and felony larceny of a firearm. Kesler was issued a $53,000 secured bond.
