Law enforcement agencies are increasing patrols on I-70 this weekend to crack down on speeding and other violations.

Starting on Friday, October 8 at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, October 10 at 11:59 p.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Indiana State Police are joining forces to patrol I-70.

During the patrol, officers will be on the lookout for speeding, impaired driving, and seatbelt violations.

The I-70 enforcement effort is part of the 6-State Trooper Project, a multi-state law enforcement partnership to promote highway safety, criminal patrol, and intelligence sharing.

Several times each year, 6-State Trooper Project member states the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and the West Virginia State Police join forces to combat traffic violations and crime.
