The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is asking drivers to expect delays on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon on Thursday as crews work to remove a truck that crashed on Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on October 12 on I-70 at mile marker 118 near No Name, leaving the truck perched on a concrete barrier.

Colorado State troopers are still investigating the events that led to the fiery single vehicle crash.

The Colorado State Patrol’s Eagle Division reported that the truck driver suffered “significant burns.” KDVR reports that the truck driver was pulled from the burning big rig by good Samaritans.

CDOT says I-70 will remain open, but drivers should expect lane closures and traffic holds throughout the day on Thursday and into the early evening as crews work to remove the crashed truck safely.
