GXO Logistics to lay off more than 200, shutter Memphis facility

GXO Logistics Supply Chain, Inc. has notified officials in Tennessee of plans to lay off more than 200 workers in the coming months.

In a January 10 letter, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development said that they received notice that GXO Logistics plans to conduct permanent layoffs beginning on March 6, 2024, with all layoffs to be completed by April 27, 2024

Officials say that 211 workers will be laid off from the facility located at 4795 Imagination Dr. in Memphis.

The Memphis facility will be shuttered by April 27, 2024, according to filings.

GXO Logistics told ABC24 that they layoffs are occurring because the company has ended operations with a customer in the Memphis. GXO Logistics also said that laid off workers could apply to other jobs within the company.

GXO logistics describes itself as ” is the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider” with more than 130,000 employees across more than 970 facilities worldwide.
