A trucker was killed in a string of “indiscriminate and unrelated” shootings outside of a gas station in Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Now, his trucking company has promised to support his family and care for the mental health of his coworkers.

31-year-old truck driver, Ramon Ramirez, has been driving for A. Duie Pyle since 2019, when he was hired to work out of the Hoover Avenue terminal near Airport Road.

Executives say that Ramirez was well-liked and did good work, reported Lehigh Valley Live.

“It’s a tragic loss of a working dad,” said Peter Dannecker, the company’s vice president of risk and integrated resources.

After notifying Ramirez’s next-of-kin and releasing his identity to the public, Dennecker and A. Duie Pyle have promised to support Ramirez’s wife and three children, and will be providing mental health resources for his coworkers.

“Family means a lot to us,” Dannecker said of the family-owned trucking business.

“It’s just a senseless tragedy. There’s no solving it. We want to help people cope with it… I doubt very much we will have any answers.”
