Truck driver travels 10 miles heading wrong way in carpool lane in California on Friday morning.

The incident occurred on Friday, March 29th near Duarte, California on the 210 Freeway just before 1 a.m.

According to KTLA, a motorist spotted the tractor trailer heading east in the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway near North Lake Avenue and contacted police.

“The vehicle was reported going about 65 to 70 mph,” said Patrol Sgt. Andrew McAllister.

The rig was able to make it about 10 miles going the wrong direction before officers caught up to it near Buena Vista Street.

“We ran a traffic break and were able to successfully stop the vehicle before any accidents could occur,” McAllister said. “The big rig spent most of its time traveling in the freeway’s carpool lane. There were no reports of any accidents, luckily.”

The unidentified truck driver was arrested without incident. It is unclear what charges, if any, he is facing.
