A driver-facing dash cam captured a road rage shooting on a California interstate late last month.

The shooting took place in Union City before 3 p.m. on March 27, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a victim called to report that his vehicle was shot at by a male driving a green Toyota sedan on northbound I-880, south of Alvarado Niles Road, after a road rage incident.

Only minor injuries from broken glass were reported.

Using dash cam video to help identify the suspect, CHP was able to arrest the Toyota driver within 24 hours of the shooting.

“A search warrant of the suspect’s house was obtained and during a search of the house, two guns and a large amount of ammunition was seized,” said CHP – Hayward.

Police say that the Toyota driver was booked into the Santa Rita Jail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and shooting into an inhabited vehicle.
