Logging truck rolls backwards into car stopped behind it after mechanical failure in Georgia on Monday morning.

The accident happened on April 15th in Milledgeville, Georgia on Hancock Street near the intersection of the U.S. Highway 441 bypass at around 10:05 a.m.

According to The Union Recorder, log truck driver Monterrious Adams was stopped at an intersection when his truck experienced a mechanical failure that caused it to roll backwards. The truck’s load of logs then pierced the windshield of the car stopped behind it, pushing the car backwards into a guardrail. Both Adams and motorist Max Harleman sustained minor injuries in the accident.

“He [Harleman]  stated that the event happened so quickly that he was unable to put his car in reverse to get out of the way,” said Milledgeville Police Department Sgt. Thomas Smith III.

“He stated that the logs from the truck crashed through the windshield almost hitting him.”

Adams was cited for operating an unsafe vehicle. No further information has been released.
