Authorities have identified the trucker killed in a fiery tanker crash on I-22 in Alabama on Tuesday.
The crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on April 16 in Walker County, Alabama.
Alabama authorities say that Stephen A. Zmolek Jr., 40, was operating a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia on westbound I-22 when the crash occurred near Exit 46.
Officials say that the truck left the interstate and overturned, resulting in a fire that sent up massive plumes of black smoke.
Zmolek did not survive.
AL.com reports that the truck was hauling diesel fuel.
The crash remains under investigation by Alabama law enforcement.
