A man is facing multiple assault charges after allegedly ramming his vehicle into parked semi trucks at a rest area on Friday.

The incident occurred early on Friday, July 23, at a rest area off of I-75 in Collier County, Florida, according to local outlet NBC2.

Truckers on the scene later reported that they were asleep in their vehicles when they were awakened by a car driver pulling into the rest area honking his horn. The car driver then began ramming his vehicle into parked trucks.

The car was also seen speeding and driving the wrong way in the rest area.

When troopers arrived on scene, they reportedly found marijuana and pills in the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect, who was later identified as Hollywood, Florida, resident Albert Thompson, 47, was arrested and booked into the Collier County Jail.

Thompson was issued four charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon without Intent to Kill.

According to Collier County Jail records, Thompson bonded out on July 24.
