LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Emergency crews rescued a semi-truck driver after his vehicle ended up hanging over the side of the Kennedy Bridge in downtown Louisville Wednesday morning.

According to Louisville Metro Police, the incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. on I-65 South. The semi driver reportedly lost control, hitting the bridge railing and causing the truck cab to dangle dangerously over the edge of the overpass.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg shared images of the dramatic rescue on social media. Authorities confirmed that the driver was safely removed from the vehicle and did not sustain any injuries.

All southbound lanes of I-65 remain blocked as emergency crews continue cleanup and investigation efforts. Motorists should expect delays and plan alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
