Train Collides with Semi-Truck in Conyers After Truck Ignores Warning Sign

A CSX freight train crashed into a semi-truck early Saturday morning in Conyers, Georgia, causing road closures and raising concerns about recurring safety violations in the area.
The incident happened at approximately 9:45 a.m. on July 13 near the intersection of Rockbridge Road and Green Street. According to the Conyers Police Department, the semi-truck became stuck on the railroad tracks just moments before the train arrived. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the crash.
Local residents and business owners said this is not the first time trucks have ignored posted signage. A FOX 5 crew on the scene observed a clearly visible sign warning that tractor-trailers are not permitted to cross those tracks. Despite the restriction, witnesses stated that large trucks frequently use the crossing anyway.
The collision caused significant damage and forced road closures for several hours while crews worked to clear the wreckage and assess the scene. Authorities did not immediately release information about the truck driver or potential citations.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident has sparked renewed calls for stricter enforcement and better infrastructure planning to prevent future accidents at the location.
