An oversize concrete beam broke in half after falling from a semi-truck at a busy intersection in Rapid City, South Dakota, on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on July 16th at the intersection of Campbell Street and E. Minnesota Street. According to the Rapid City Police Department, the massive beam became unsecured as the semi attempted a left turn through the intersection. The beam then crashed to the pavement, snapping in half and blocking the roadway.

Photos from the scene show the large structure split cleanly across the middle, resting across multiple lanes of traffic.

Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area and find alternate routes while cleanup crews worked to remove the broken beam. Although details on the recovery operation have not been fully released, the intersection was reportedly cleared after several hours.

According to the Rapid City Police Department, no injuries were reported in the incident.
