SAYREVILLE, N.J. — Main Street in Sayreville has fully reopened as of 7:00 AM on September 30th, following a Monday evening incident where a tractor-trailer brought down utility wires and two poles, causing major closures and power issues.

According to Sayreville Emergency Management, the crash occurred around 7:00 PM on September 29th, prompting an immediate response from JCP&L crews, who secured the power. Verizon crews were also called in to replace the two utility poles damaged in the crash.

The incident led to the closure of both Main Street and the southbound Exit 124 off-ramp from the Garden State Parkway (GSP). Residents were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

JCP&L and Verizon completed the necessary repairs overnight, allowing for traffic to resume by morning.
