Eight-Vehicle Crash on I-94 Involving Semi-Truck Injures Two Children and a Woman

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — A major crash involving at least eight vehicles, including a semi-truck, utility vehicle, and six personal vehicles, has resulted in serious injuries and a full shutdown of eastbound I-94 near the Sprinkle Road exit.
The crash occurred Monday morning and prompted an emergency response from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS). According to WWMT News among the injured are two children and one adult: a 10-year-old girl who is in critical but stable condition, a 40-year-old woman, and a 4-year-old girl.
While the woman and the younger child sustained non-life-threatening injuries, all three victims were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities have confirmed that eastbound I-94 is entirely closed, including the Portage Road onramp. As of 9:30 a.m., KDPS advised drivers to avoid the area and expect closures to last for at least two more hours. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.
