BUCKEYE, Ariz. — A major traffic disruption occurred Thursday morning after a semi-truck rollover closed multiple lanes of Interstate 10 near Verrado Way in Buckeye.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. when a westbound semi-truck lost control and overturned, landing across the concrete barrier that divides the eastbound and westbound lanes. Emergency crews responded immediately and began working to rescue the trapped driver, who sustained injuries in the crash.

Authorities said the semi-truck was the only vehicle involved in the incident, which blocked all westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes of I-10. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) confirmed that westbound traffic is being detoured off at Verrado Way and re-entering the interstate at the same point.

Motorists traveling through the West Valley were advised to expect heavy delays and seek alternate routes while crews worked to remove the overturned truck and clear debris. There was no immediate estimate for when the highway would fully reopen.

According to 12 News, photographs from the scene show the semi-truck lying on its side across the median as DPS officers and rescue personnel worked to extricate the driver safely.
