Truck Driver Arrested for DWI After Crashing Into Trick-or-Treating Family in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A 61-year-old truck driver was arrested Friday night after crashing into a family of three who were out trick-or-treating on the South Side, according to San Antonio Police.
The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 9300 block of Monsanto, an area known for heavy Halloween activity.
Police say the driver, identified as Raul Trevino, got into his truck, “hit the gas a little too hard,” struck a parked vehicle, jumped a curb, and plowed into a group of trick-or-treaters.
A one-year-old girl, a 29-year-old woman, and a 29-year-old man — all members of the same family — were injured in the crash. The baby and man sustained minor injuries, while the woman was hospitalized but is expected to recover.

“The 29-year-old female got the most of it. But by the grace of God, she’s going to be okay,” said Sergeant Amy Morris with the San Antonio Police Department.
After hitting the family, Trevino’s truck struck another parked vehicle and a fence before he fled the scene. Police later located and arrested him, saying there was “evidence of intoxicants in the car.”
“This is the decision that was made by him, and he’s under arrest right now,” Sgt. Morris said. “By the grace of God, this wasn’t a whole lot worse.”
According to News4SanAntonio, witnesses described the chaotic scene as neighbors rushed to help the injured family. “She was there on the ground bleeding,” said Ana Medina, a nearby resident. “Her husband was trying to get her to react.”
Police confirmed Trevino is facing charges related to driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene.
