PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Maryland State Police have released new photos of a suspect wanted in the 2022 shooting death of tow truck driver Delonte Hicks, who was killed during a road rage encounter on Route 50 near Veterans Parkway.

Investigators say Hicks, 29, was driving his tow truck eastbound when he became involved in an altercation with the driver of a Hyundai Sonata. The suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds into Hicks’ truck, striking and killing him before fleeing the scene.

The shooting occurred around 5:45 p.m. on March 19, 2022, in the Cheverly area. Hicks, who lived in Washington, D.C., had recently returned to work for Central Towing after time at another job. Friends and coworkers described him as hardworking and deeply devoted to his family.

Police do not believe Hicks knew the shooter. The Maryland State Police, with assistance from the FBI, are now offering a $30,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

According to FOX Baltimore, the newly released images show the suspected shooter and the dark-colored Hyundai Sonata believed to be involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact investigators immediately.
