Louisiana trucker honored with custom Kenworth and $50,000 prize in Pilot’s Road Warrior contest
BAYTOWN, Texas — Truck stop operator Pilot celebrated professional driver Stacy Batiste of Lafayette, Louisiana, as the 2025 Road Warrior Champion, surprising him with a custom-built Kenworth truck and a $50,000 cash prize.

According to Pilot Company, the award recognizes drivers who demonstrate exceptional dedication, safety, and service in keeping America’s freight moving. Batiste, a Marine Corps veteran, has logged more than 5.1 million safe miles over a 33-year career and mentors younger drivers in the industry.
On October 21, Batiste was surprised by Pilot and the Diesel Brothers while stopping at a Flying J in Baytown, Texas, during a delivery route. His family, hidden inside the travel center, joined the celebration as he received the keys to the customized Kenworth.
Batiste began his trucking career hauling sugar cane in South Louisiana and now works as an owner-operator. Pilot said the new truck will help him continue his commitment to safety and community service.
