A fiery, five-vehicle crash ended in three fatalities in Texas on Thursday afternoon, all because of a ‘meat product’ spill.

The accident happened on August 26th in Seguin, Texas on Interstate 10 near the State Highway 123 bypass.

According to KSAT News, a semi truck transporting meat product was traveling along I-10 when it lost its load on the highway. The spilled meat product created slippery conditions, and when a second semi truck tried to avoid the spill, the rig slammed into a guardrail and another car, causing a chain reaction crash involving a total of five vehicles and even setting one on fire.

A portion of the wreck, which occurred on an elevated portion of highway, even fell onto the roadway below. The semi truck that lost its load was not damaged in the chain reaction crash, police say.

Three people died in the wreck, but further details have not been released.

The incident is still under investigation.
