The incident occurred near Exit 205 at the off-ramp to University Boulevard toward Ladson, where the semi-truck erupted in flames shortly before 8 a.m. Fire crews arrived quickly and worked to extinguish the blaze as traffic continued to build along the busy interstate. Commuters in the area experienced significant delays as emergency teams blocked lanes to contain the fire and secure the scene.

According to Live 5 News, officials have not yet determined what caused the semi-truck to ignite, and it remains unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident. By around 10:30 a.m., the roadway had reopened, though responders maintained a reduced presence in the area as cleanup operations continued.

Authorities are expected to release additional details as the investigation progresses.
