ATLANTA, GEORGIA — Detectives in Gwinnett County are searching for a man caught on video stealing a Freightliner tractor-trailer from a business parking lot late last month before abandoning the rig a short distance away, police announced.

The incident occurred on November 24, when surveillance and driver-monitoring video captured a suspect entering the cab of the truck parked at Mayer Electric Supply. Footage shows the man attempting to start the Freightliner before eventually getting the engine running and driving the tractor-trailer off the lot. Officers later located the truck abandoned and still running, only a short distance from the business, suggesting the suspect may have fled on foot immediately after stealing it.

According to Gwinnett County Police, investigators are now asking the public to help identify the suspect seen in the video. Anyone with information is urged to contact Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5300. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-TIPS or submitting an online report. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.

The investigation remains active, and police will release additional details as they become available.
