Deputies responded just before the 20.2-mile marker northbound, where traffic had been backed up due to an unrelated Kentucky State Police investigation near the 23–24 mile markers. As vehicles slowed, an SUV collided with a semi-truck, leaving the SUV driver entrapped inside the vehicle.
