According to the recovery crew, the driver continued for nearly 1.5 miles before the situation worsened and the tractor-trailer became stuck in a creek, leaving the rig immobilized and unable to safely move on its own.

The recovery team said they made the decision to wait and handle the recovery in daylight for safety. When they returned, they brought a truckload of cinders, a winch box, and a tracked skid steer to stabilize the area and pull the rig out without causing further damage or risk.

After several hours of work, the crew said the loaded tractor-trailer was recovered back onto solid ground, guided back to a clear roadway, and was able to continue toward its destination in time to make the delivery appointment.
