BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA — A semi-truck hauling ice cream caught fire early Tuesday morning, prompting the closure of the westbound Highway 58 Mount Vernon Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said the vehicle fire was reported around 2:17 a.m. on Highway 58 at the Mount Vernon Avenue off-ramp, where crews shut down lanes while cleanup operations were underway.
Officials had not announced when the off-ramp would reopen as of the latest update.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured. The incident remains under investigation.
