Tractor-Trailer Slides 40 Feet Down Hillside, Pinning Driver in Cab in Manor Township
MANOR TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA — A tractor-trailer crashed over a hillside in Manor Township Wednesday afternoon, leaving the driver trapped and prompting a multi-agency rescue response on the Route 422 bypass, according to the Manor Township Volunteer Fire Company and local reports.

The fire company said the crash was reported around 1:58 p.m. near Hawk Hollow Road on the Route 422 bypass. Responders found the tractor-trailer had gone 30 to 40 feet down an embankment, with the driver still inside.

Fire officials said the driver was pinned between the seat and the steering wheel, and crews worked to extricate him. With a person trapped and a fuel leak detected, additional departments were requested to assist, officials said.

The fire company said the driver was rescued within about an hour of the initial call. He was reported to be alert and suffered minor injuries, officials said.
Photos shared by the department showed significant front-end damage and a section of guardrail damaged in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
