Troopers said the truck was traveling примерно 55 mph in a 45 mph zone — as shown in the driver’s dash camera video — when the load shifted. Authorities said the metal beams moved into the cab, crushing it.
The driver was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital with minor injuries and is expected to recover, officials said.
Authorities said the driver was cited for ARS 28-701 (Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent – Collision) and also issued a Federal Motor Carrier violation for an improperly secured load, with investigators noting the load shifted laterally.
Officials urged drivers hauling materials to double-check securement to prevent dangerous load shifts and keep roadways safe.
