CSP Issues High Wind Restriction for High-Profile Vehicles on I-70 From Deer Trail to Kansas Border as Overturned Semis Are Reported
EASTERN PLAINS, COLORADO — High winds prompted Colorado officials to restrict high-profile vehicles from traveling on Interstate 70 Friday afternoon, after multiple semis reportedly overturned along the corridor, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

CSP said the restriction was announced shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, affecting both directions of I-70 between Highway 40 (Deer Trail) and the Kansas state line (about 10 miles east of Burlington), spanning mileposts 328 to 450.

“Due to high winds and overturned semis, high-profile vehicles are not permitted,” CSP said, urging impacted drivers to delay travel and check COtrip.org for current conditions and delays.
