CHP Coastal Division Finds 253 Violations on Central Coast in Two-Day Commercial Vehicle Detail With 15 Trucks and 9 Drivers Put Out of Service
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA — The California Highway Patrol’s Coastal Division, headquartered in San Luis Obispo, reported that troopers uncovered 253 violations during a two-day commercial vehicle enforcement detail focused on moving violations aimed at improving roadway safety across California’s Central Coast.

CHP said the operation resulted in 79 vehicle inspections, with enforcement actions leading to 15 vehicles placed out of service and 9 drivers placed out of service due to safety and compliance concerns.

According to CHP, violations identified during the detail included:

Inoperative trailer brakes

Unsecured loads

Oversized loads without proper permits

Numerous unsafe moving violations
