Tractor-Trailer Driver Dies From Injuries After Route 2 East Rollover in Fitchburg That Left Cab Torn Apart and Leaking Fuel

FITCHBURG, MASSACHUSETTS — The driver of a tractor-trailer involved in a serious rollover on Route 2 East earlier this week has died from his injuries, Massachusetts State Police confirmed.
The crash happened at about 4 p.m. Tuesday on Route 2 East in Fitchburg. Footage from Sky 5 showed the truck on its side, blocking the left lane and part of the right lane. Authorities said the cab was heavily damaged and detached from the rest of the vehicle, and fuel was leaking from the truck.
State police said the driver did not survive the injuries suffered in the crash. The driver’s name has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
