Train Slams Into Tractor-Trailer Near Downtown Greer, Blocking Multiple Railroad Crossings for Hours
GREER, SOUTH CAROLINA — A tractor-trailer was struck by a Norfolk Southern train Friday afternoon near downtown Greer, leaving multiple railroad crossings blocked as crews worked for hours to clear debris from the tracks.

According to the Greer Police Department, the crash happened at the railroad crossing near the intersection of 4th Street and Moore Street. Police said no injuries were reported.
The collision caused widespread disruptions around downtown, with several crossings blocked, including 4th Street, School Street, Trade Street, Able Street, and South Line Street.
As of 9:30 p.m., officials said crews were still working to clear debris and warned it would be several more hours before the tracks are fully cleared.
Drivers were urged to use alternate routes while cleanup continues.
