Oversize Modular Building Falls From Trailer Closing Foresthill Road in Auburn
AUBURN, CALIFORNIA — Traffic on Foresthill Road at Drivers Flat Road was stopped in both directions Tuesday afternoon after an oversized load — a modular building — shifted and came off a trailer, according to California Highway Patrol Auburn.
CHP initially issued a traffic alert around 1:00 p.m. on February 10, 2026, stating that both directions of Foresthill Road would be closed to facilitate cleanup of the lost load. The modular structure, marked “Oversize Load,” came to rest partially in the roadway, requiring heavy equipment and a tow truck with a crane to stabilize and reposition it.
Images from the scene show a heavy-duty wrecker assisting with recovery operations while the modular unit leaned across the centerline, blocking both lanes on the two-lane roadway.
As of 2:20 p.m., CHP provided a final update confirming that both directions of Foresthill Road at Drivers Flat Road were reopened.
Motorists were advised to expect delays during the closure while crews worked to safely remove the structure and clear the roadway. No injuries were reported in the incident.
