WEED, California — A tractor-trailer struck and knocked over the city’s iconic totem pole late Tuesday night outside Ray’s Food Place, according to the Weed Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 11:15 p.m. on February 10, 2026, for a report of a private property traffic collision. When they arrived, they found the landmark totem pole had been hit by a tractor-trailer.
Police identified the driver at the scene and collected the trucking company’s insurance information for a private property damage report.
The totem pole has stood as a landmark in the City of Weed since it was commissioned in 1962. The full extent of the damage has not yet been determined.
