56 Citations Issued for Skipping Weigh Station During Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Blitz at Loop 375
EL PASO, Texas — Multiple law enforcement agencies issued dozens of citations during a commercial vehicle enforcement operation at a weigh station in the El Paso area.
On February 18, 2026, the Texas Department of Public Safety – West Texas Region partnered with the El Paso Police Department to conduct a joint Commercial Vehicle Enforcement detail at the Loop 375 weigh station.
According to officials, the operation resulted in:

23 commercial motor vehicle inspections

47 total violations
-
11 out-of-service violations
-
7 brake violations
-
2 weight violations
-
56 citations for disregarding the weigh station

Authorities noted that no citations were issued during the operation for fraudulent Mexico commercial driver’s licenses, human trafficking, or non-English-speaking drivers.
“The El Paso Police Department, in strong partnership with DPS conducted a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement operation at the Loop 375 weigh station. Working together strengthens our ability to improve roadway safety and hold violators accountable,” the agencies said in a joint statement.
Officials added, “We appreciate the continued collaboration between our agencies as we work together to keep El Paso’s roads safe.”
The enforcement detail focused on identifying unsafe equipment, regulatory violations and drivers bypassing mandatory weigh station inspections.
