Tractor-Trailer Plunges Off I-44 in Missouri, Landing Between Two Bridges and Spilling Tofu Cargo While Leaking Oil Into Nearby Waterway
DOOLITTLE, MISSOURI — A tractor-trailer crashed off Interstate 44 Sunday night, plunging down an embankment and coming to rest between two bridges, spilling its cargo of tofu boxes and leaking oil into a nearby waterway.

The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District responded to the crash on westbound I-44 at mile marker 172. Images shared by firefighters show the truck had left the interstate and crashed down the embankment between the two bridges. The trailer broke open during the impact, partially spilling its cargo of boxed tofu onto the ground.

Firefighters also reported an active oil spill resulting from the crash, with oil leaking into a nearby waterway. It remains unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
