Water Truck Driver Charged With Speeding After Rollover Crash Closes Renton Intersection for More Than Two Hours
RENTON, WASHINGTON — A water truck driver is facing speeding charges and additional pending charges after allegedly driving too fast and rolling over at a Renton intersection, closing the roadway for more than two hours.
At 12:23 p.m. on March 4, 2026, officers with the Renton Police Department responded to a rollover collision at Garden Avenue North and North Eighth Street. The Renton Regional Fire Authority rerouted traffic until the roadway reopened at 2:33 p.m. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he was later released.

According to RPD, the water truck driver faces speeding charges, with additional charges pending. Police confirmed the other charges are not related to intoxication but said they could not speculate on their nature as the investigation remains ongoing.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
