KENTUCKY — Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement troopers conducted hundreds of commercial vehicle inspections across a 25-county East Region in January 2026, resulting in 431 violations and dozens of drivers and vehicles placed out of service.
KSP East Region troopers conducted 552 commercial motor vehicle inspections in January, citing 431 violations. A total of 18 drivers and 52 vehicles were placed out of service during the month. A vehicle being placed out of service means a safety issue was found that had to be corrected before the commercial vehicle could return to the road.
"CVE East Region officers, troopers and inspectors work across 25 counties to keep commercial drivers, passengers, and communities safe," Kentucky State Police said.
The KSP East Region covers Bath, Boyd, Breathitt, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Floyd, Greenup, Johnson, Knott, Lawrence, Leslie, Letcher, Lewis, Magoffin, Martin, Mason, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, Perry, Pike, Powell, Rowan, and Wolfe Counties.
