California CHP Increases Truck Stops and Inspections Near Border After Spike in Crashes and Log Violations
EL CENTRO, CALIFORNIA — The California Highway Patrol Border Division's Commercial Vehicle Unit has announced increased enforcement efforts in response to a rise in commercial vehicle collisions, unsafe driving behaviors, and hours-of-service violations in the region.
Officers are conducting inspections and enforcement operations to ensure commercial drivers and vehicles are operating in compliance with state and federal regulations.
CHP issued the following safety reminders for commercial drivers: follow hours-of-service requirements, keep logbooks accurate and up to date, conduct thorough vehicle inspections, and never drive fatigued.
"Safe driving saves lives. Let's work together to keep California's highways safe," CHP said.
