A truck driver has been charged with driving while intoxicated after overturning on an upstate New York bridge on Wednesday evening.

The accident happened on Wednesday, June 15th at around 7:15 p.m. in Mcgraw, New York, but the right lane of the bridge was still closed for guardrail repairs as of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.

According to LocalSyr News, 47-year-old Alexandr Gorski was hauling cooking oil and pesticides along Interstate 81 when he overturned between exits 10 and 11 along a small bridge. The force of the impact broke open the trailer and caused some of the pesticides to leak into the Tioughnioga River.

No injuries were reported, but Gorski was charged with driving while intoxicated and was released to a sober third party following the wreck. He is expected to appear in the Cortland City Court on July 25th

As of 9:20 a.m. the northbound lanes between exits 11 and 12 were still shut down for guardrail repair. The incident is still under investigation.
