Authorities in Arkansas are investigating after a male was found deceased inside the cab of a semi truck that went into a river.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on August 22, multiple agencies responded to a report of a semi truck that had gone off the road and into the Arkansas River in Mulberry, Arkansas, according to local outlet 5NewsOnline.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found the truck almost totally submerged in the river.

Because of the flow of the river, crews were not able to open the cab of the truck until a heavy wrecker service responded and pulled the truck and trailer from the river, which took hours.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office discovered the body of a white male in the cab of the truck.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Police believe that the man was the only person in the truck when it crashed into the river.

The cause of the crash into the river remains under investigation.
