Truck driver fatally struck by pickup after pulling over to check his load

Authorities in Arizona have confirmed that a truck driver lost his life after he was struck by another vehicle on Friday.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Friday, October 7, in north Phoenix, Arizona.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a semi truck driver pulled off of northbound I-17 near the Happy Valley Road Exit to check his load.
As the truck driver as standing outside of the truck, a passing pickup truck struck him.
The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup driver returned to the scene of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
