Michigan State Police (MSP) have confirmed that one person was killed after being struck by a semi truck at a gas station in L’Anse late Thursday night.

MSP responded to the incident around 11:10 p.m. on October 13 at the Holiday Gas station in L’Anse.

When troopers arrived on scene, they discovered that a 43 year old man had been struck by a semi truck while filling up at the gas pumps.

The man was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead.

The semi truck crash also resulted in a large structure fire.

A gas station worker was hospitalized with injuries.

Fox 11 reports that a second gas station worker and a trainee inside the semi truck were uninjured.

The 22 year old Illinois-based semi truck driver was booked into the Baraga County jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

MSP Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) is assisting in the investigation.

This is a developing story.
