Driver Loses Control and Overturns Tractor-Trailer in the Median on I-75 Southbound in Hillsborough County
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FLORIDA — A tractor-trailer crash partially blocked Interstate 75 early Thursday after a commercial vehicle overturned near mile marker 261, sending the driver to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Officials said the crash happened when a tractor-trailer driven by a 32-year-old man from Lakeland was traveling southbound on I-75 and the driver lost control. Investigators said the truck left the roadway, entered the median, and overturned.
Emergency crews responded and found the driver suffering from injuries not believed to be life-threatening. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials said.
Authorities said the wreck caused a partial roadblock on southbound I-75 while crews worked to clear debris and secure the scene. Traffic disruptions remained until approximately 6:00 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation. Drivers were urged to use caution and expect possible residual delays during the morning commute.
