Speeding DUI car driver forces semi off the road, spilling 43K pounds of fries, sheriff says

A motorist was arrested in connection with a big rig rollover crash that spilled 43K pounds of fries on a Missouri roadway over the weekend.

 

The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. on March 10 in Montgomery County, Missouri.

According to the Montgomery County MO Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), deputies responded to the North Service Road near eastbound I-70 at mile marker 186 for a reported crash.

 

MCSO said that a semi truck was “forced off the roadway by an intoxicated driver who was traveling at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of both lanes of traffic.”

The truck went through a ditch and overturned, spilling nearly 43,000 pounds of French fries on the North Service Road.

No injuries were reported.

 

The “intoxicated driver,” later identified as Blake Werner, 21, was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and booked on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Imprudent Driving -Involving in an Accident, and Driving While Suspended/Revoked.
